Registration
To post projects or to bid on projects, you must register and create a user profile.
1- To Register: Click either the Provider Registration or Business Registration tabs
You can register for either one or both.
2- Enter your email address. This will prompt a confirmation e-mail to be sent to you. Follow the link inside the email to continue the signup process. The link will take you to the following signup form (The example shown is for a Provider)
Complete the signup form for your profile and click on “Signup”
You will then get a confirmation page showing your username and password. Please write these down or print out for your records.
Follow the same process for registering as a Buyer (Business)
3- Member Area
You may select “Manage Account” from the top menu.
From the Account Management Screen you can access your account information and edit profile information, view open projects, check account balance, and leave feedback for buyers. (Buyers can leave feedback for Providers)
4- Member Area Links
Buyers and Providers can access their account information in the Member Area. Buyers can Create Projects, Providers can view open projects or find a project, and both buyers and providers can send messages.
Once you have registered you are now ready to post your project (buyers) or bid on projects (providers).
5- To POST a Project
Log in from the home page with your username and password.
You will be taken to the WorkPilot Member Area which shows your account.
Click on Create Project from the menu at the top of the page.
’Open New Project’ page will open.
Enter your project name (your choice), select a project category (closest to what you want), select a sub-category (optional), select years of experience you prefer the provider has, your geographic location, your primary language, describe your project in detail (exactly what you need, what will the use be, size, color, shape, scope, what you will provide, etc. DO NOT include any contact information such as email, phone number, fax, etc.
Then enter budget range for the project (optional).
Select the number of days you want the project to be posted as open.
Review all information entered for accuracy, then click on ‘Submit Project’.
That’s it – your project is now listed in the WorkPilot Marketplace and is automatically added to your Member Area page. You will also receive a confirmation email confirming your project listing. You will also receive an email if/when a provider bids on your project.
Service providers will now be able to view your project in the Marketplace and place a bid if they are interested.
6- To BID on a project
Log in from the home page with your username and password.
You will be taken to the WorkPilot Member Area which shows your account.
Click on View Open Projects or Find A Project from the top menu.
A list of open projects will open.
Review the projects. Click on the project name to get more details. Below the project details will be a button to “Place Bid” all previous bids will also be listed.
Once you click on Place Bid, a bid window will open.
Enter your total bid for the project, estimated completion time, and provide the details of your bid (the more details the better your chances are of being reviewed/selected).
DO NOT include any contact information such as email, phone number, fax, etc.
You can also check the box “Notify me by e-mail if someone bids lower than me on this project”
Then click on “Place Bid”.
That’s it – your bid has now been listed for that project and can be reviewed by the buyer. It is also automatically added to your Member’s Area page.
7- Sending a message to a buyer or provider
From your Member’s Area, you can send a message to another user if you know their username. Click on ‘Send Message’ and a new page will open “Send a Private Message” Enter their username and your message, then click on send. The user will receive an email notice with your message and it will give them instructions on how to reply to your message.
8- Getting Email Alerts
Any time a provider bids on your project, you will receive an email alert listing the username of the bidder and the amount of the bid. You can then click on the detail link listed in the email. If you cannot receive email in html format, or if the link is not active, simply copy the complete link and paste it into your Internet browser to view.
You will also receive an email alert if another user sends you a message.
You are not permitted to exchange contact information until such time as you have accepted a bid from a provider. See Terms & Conditions
9- To select a Provider (accept a bid)
From your WorkPilot Member Area Click on ‘Pick a Service Provider’ (see below)
Click on the Service provider you have selected from the bid listings. (see below)
This opens the providers bid page. Review the bid again to ensure this is the provider you have chosen. If acceptable, then click on the “Invite User” tab in the upper right hand corner of the Service Provider Info. (See below)
You will then be prompted to select the project: Which project would you like to invite abcdefg to bid on?
Once selected, click on the ‘Invite’ tab. A new window will open stating:
Done. Your invitation has been successfully sent to abcdefg.

The provider will then receive an email alert:
“aabcdefg2 has just invited you to place a bid on their project. The name of the project is "WorkPilot Puzzle" and you can view it at the following URL: http://www.workpilot.com/cgi-bin/free//project.cgi?id=1066345093”
The provider clicks on the link and is taken to the Project Posting
